Here goes....

Well, the first of many projects is finished. The painting of the great room is complete. Although, it's very bare in there (to say the least) I am very happy with how it turned out. And, there is still about 2 gallons of the neutral beige color left, so I may put that to good use some place else. Here is a before picture of the room.... This post is going to be a picture overload, but I took quite a few so we could see the transformation. My friend who is an interior designer is coming over in the following weeks to help me get some inspiration for my mantle and hopefully a new furniture arrangement. I also have some curtain panels at Lowe's that I will be picking up next weekend. That should help pull everything together.... I hope.

This was during...

After!

Would you want to rock your baby and read stories here? I do... although I will be re-staining and re-upholstering that chair!

My "blank" mantle... that scrolly-thing in front of the fireplace will be hung up there somewhere.

Not sure if you can tell how much of a color difference there is with my cheap camera, but it's really great!

Well, what do you think? Anyone have any good ideas for the room?

  1. Great job so far! I love the new color, as well! Definitely need a family picture on the wall above your fireplace! Can't wait to see future pictures!
